Examples of Projects

Motorcycle Crash Reconstruction

"Lean Angle" is a case study mini-documentary filmed, edited, and formatted by a DeFacto Video director. It follows a forensic engineering team from Kineticorp as they retrace events leading up to a multiple-fatality crash in California. This production opens a window into the world of video accident reconstruction possible through DeFacto Video. Viewers can witness firsthand what goes into surveying an accident scene in preparation for forensic analysis.

Officer-Involved Shooting

This video provides a clear and thorough summary of the facts of an actual case, scope of work, data analysis, and research performed for a convincing presentation. The DeFacto director of this video highlights what the techniques of photogrammetry can achieve by creating a highly accurate model to support data analysis and ultimately the conclusions possible through the reconstruction process.

Full-Scale Forensic Model

Digital and physical models are used in accident reconstruction to provide an objective reference point for data gathering and illustration purposes. In one case, a highway overpass railing was a crucial element in question. The DeFacto Video director follows the fabrication process of a 1:1 full-scale physical model.

Forensic Model Testing

Following fabrication and painting, the DeFacto Video director recorded a reenactment of possible events with a surrogate actor approximating the height, weight, build, and clothing of the case's subject. Finally, the alleged series of actions were digitally composited by the DeFacto Video director into background photos from the accident scene, allowing reconstructionists to demonstrate what may have happened in this case.
